My name is Dave Banko and I’m an Industrial Designer / Creator with extensive experience in designing and building Museum and Trade Show displays, as well as commercial and residential spaces, furniture and products.  In recent years I acquired my General Contractors License and have worked closely with Architects, Designers, Engineers, Builders and Homeowners to produce innovative solutions to 3 dimensional obstacles using concrete, steel, glass and wood as a medium.

I am usually called upon when the project requires an out of the ordinary resolution to an area that insists on attention to detail with a high level of craftsmanship.  Being presented with a request for something truly unique is when I feel most at home.  There is something about listening to a client describe their need, developing ideas to fill that need, delivering the final product and seeing  their reaction that makes what I do so enjoyable.  My design process is very hands on so you will see me bouncing from ideation sketches to CAD drawings, to working in the shop throughout the entire duration of the project.

At times, working on custom projects requires me to develop specialty forms and tooling.  This is another area that I really enjoy.  Because of this I have designed and built my own CNC router and 3D printer.  These two tools have helped me a great deal in my design and production process.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design / Product Design from North Carolina State University.
